Lab2Market is a one year programme, divided into three continuous phases. It gives future entrepreneurs the knowledge, skills and connections required to start new businesses, create new jobs and commercialise new technologies that will generate impact on the raw materials value chain.

#1 Ideation | Feb – April
Start with ideation and building your team
Learn what it takes to become an entrepreneur and how to create a startup. Identify some challenges in the raw materials sector and generate innovative ideas to solve them. Through virtual sessions and team building exercises you’ll learn how to find co-founders and how to build a solid team.
#2 Start-up Development | May – June
Work on your ideas and develop a solid pitch deck
This intense, two month phase consists of mentoring and bootcamp training sessions where you get to work on your idea. You’ll learn how to validate customer needs, assess market size and develop a go-to-market strategy. Identifying regulations and other specific criteria for technical and market entrance will also be covered. The aim is to create a complete business plan and a pitch deck to present in the final pitching event.
#3 Incubation | June - October
Mentoring and coaching by experts
Participate in the five month incubation phase and incorporate your startup. Put everything you’ve learned into practice and work on developing your business further, all with the help of your mentors, industry experts and EIT’s funding.
Get help to generate ideas and form your team.
Receive guidance to launch a start-up from business experts.
Get hands-on experience to begin your entrepreneurial journey.
Access to EIT RM network and a direct connection with the market.
Phase 1

Duration: Feb – April.
Who can apply:
- Enrolled students on one of the EIT-Labelled master’s programmes.
- Recent graduates/alumni from one of the EIT-Labelled master’s programmes.
- Ph.D students in engineering and/or science fields of Raw Materials, registered at universities in Europe.
- Teams comprised with minimum one member coming from aforementioned student categories.

Cost: Free.
Award: Certificate of participation.
Phase 2

Duration: May – June.
Who can apply:
- Graduated teams from Phase 1.
- At least one team member must come be coming from the Master or PhD student categories currently studying a topic related to raw materials at a European university.
Application deadline: 21 April – Apply Now.
Cost: Free.
Award: The 4 best pitching teams of the competition will be awarded a €2.500 prize per team as a reward for their engagement and dedication in the programme.
Phase 3

Duration: June – October.
Who can apply:
- Teams that have graduated from Phase 2 of the EIT RawMaterials Lab2Market programme.
Application deadline: N/A.
Cost: Free.
Award: Up to 15 teams will enter Phase 3, with the pre-condition to launch a new start-up, and receive funding from €3.000 up to €17.000 each.
